Location

Gironde, France - in the Libourne region - the town of St Seurin sur l’Isle-neighboring St Emilion

The vineyard

21 hectars, cultivated responsibly, Average vine age is 25 years old with some of the oldest at 50 years old

Le soil

Alternating between gravel and sand with a layer of clay and limestone. For optimal drainage.

Vintage and vinification

Grapes are picked at full maturity, parcel at a time. After maceration and cold pre-fermenation, the vinification process alternates between Cement and wooden vats.

L'assemblage

Merlot : 60%. Cabernet Franc : 30%. Cabernet Sauvignon : 10%.

18 months in french oak

THE TASTING
To the eye - ouverture

Intense amber color

On the nose - allegro

Ripened red fruit, black current, blackberry, with deep wooden undertones and truffles that may evolve into rich cigar aromas.

In the mouth - largo

Suave and strong at first, it then develops into a more ample and generous wine all the while remaining soft and silky.

Finish

The smoked and wooded tastes gradually become more complex for a refined ending.

Location

Saint-Seurin-sur-l’Isle, on the boundaries of the Saint-Emilion

vineyard. In the Libourne area of the Gironde department.

Vineyard

21 hectares (46 acres), managed using environmentally

responsible winegrowing techniques. The oldest vines are over 50 years old; the average age is around 35 years.

Soil

Alternating layers of gravel and fine sand over a clay subsoil

ensure optimal drainage.

The vinification integrale technique

Grapes from the best plots are vinified in 500 litre (132 gallon) oak barrels, turned by hand as many as six times a day at the start of vinification. This early integration of wood, before the maturing process, gives a concentration of colour and aromas and makes a more generous, noble and complex wine.

Blend

Merlot : 60%. Cabernet Franc : 30%. Cabernet Sauvignon : 10%.

Aging process

18 months.

TASTING
To the eye - ouverture

The colour is a deep, exceptionally intense red.

On the nose - allegro

Powerful aromas of ripe fruit provide a counterpoint to notes of deliciously grilled black truffle.

In the mouth - largo

An ample, silky mouthfeel..

Finish

Perfectly balanced, with a long finish worthy of the greatest Bordeaux wines.

Serving

at 18-19°C (64-66°F) xafter being decanted, ideally an hour before being served to give the wine its full expression.

Cellaring

It can already be enjoyed now and has a 20-year cellaring potential.
